Open Farm: Ethically Raised and Sourced Farm-To-Table Pet Food

There’s kibble, the grain heavy, low protein stuff you find at big box pet stores, then there’s “kibble,” made with excellent ingredients through ethical means. While we built Healthy Spot around raw pet food, we know from experience that some pups just prefer and do better on dry food. So when we’re able to find a company that creates dry dog food that’s actually great for your pup, we get excited! That’s why we’re excited to bring family owned and operated Open Farm pet foods to our shelves.

Farm-to-Bowl

Open Farm set out to make pet food from premium proteins, fruits, and veggies that are raised naturally, responsibly, and humanely. Working directly with farmers, their entire supply chain is certified by a third-party organization specializing in humane animal care and sustainable farming practices. Not only does this ensure exceptional quality food for your pet, but it also supports family farms, protects farm animals, and helps the environment.

Humane and Ethical Farming

The meat and poultry found in Open Farm food is raised with humane and sustainable practices in environments that allow for natural behaviors while being fed vegetarian diets free from antibiotics and hormones. The fish used are ocean caught and never farmed, which means they’re free from antibiotics, artificial feed, and preservatives. They are also seasonally sourced to ensure the freshest, most flavorful catch. Their recipes contain no grain, corn, wheat, or soy with no artificial preservatives, flavoring, and animal byproducts. Just the good stuff!

Environmentally Conscious

They’ve also partnered with TerraCycle to launch the first North American pet food bag recycling program. Over 95% of pet food bags in North American are not recyclable so Open Farm decided to provide a free and easy way to recycle Open Farm bags. Share the Love

During the month of February, we’ll be sharing the love by donating Open Farm to pets in need. For every bag of Open Farm purchased by our customers for donation or their own pets, Open Farm will donate a 4.5lbs bag to a local rescue organization. And for every pet adopted during our Sunday adoption events or our L.A. Love & Leashes adoption center in Santa Monica, Open Farm will provide a free 4.5lbs bag of food.
